My real problem with Biology;

I'm one of the many people, I assume, who can look at a flower and accept it. I don't need or want to know why it's green or how it grows.

You know those European Enlightenment thinkers who were always ridiculed and jailed? I'm pretty sure this had nothing to do with people thinking they were the anti-Christ. They just didn't want to make things more complicated than it already is. They were trying to save future generations from pointless biology classes.

I mean, realistically, a lot of people would be dead if all these discoveries hadn't been made but why in the world do I have to learn about them?

I suppose all this animosity towards biology really comes up because the end of the semester and the fact that my 4.0 GPA has been obliterated partly because of biology. Although I feel well about my finals so we'll see. A friend of mine stated that the last day of the semester, all you can do is sit back and watch your grades be carved in front of your eyes. I can definitely relate to this though.

Well, on a side not, my toe is broken. Huh.

And I decided that I don't care if I'm the only one who posts... So there you go. But I still love reading everybody's blogs so I hope you do post.

  1. I am sorry about your toe. That is very unfortunate.
    I love biology, it is my favorite subject. And I think I can make a few points to its importance, but there is no productivity in that.

    I miss you Kaitee. It is imperative that we see each other soon. :)

  2. Oh, and biology lowered my GPA too.
    It is rather frustrating.

  3. Hope your toe gets better. You don't seem too concerned though, so I have high hopes that it will make a fast recovery.
    I personally like Biology, but I totally feel you for the whole GPA thing- makes you just want to beg the teacher for a scrap of mercy, or kick something really hard..
    I do not advise this however. Firstly, because that would not be good for your aforementioned toe, and secondly, because dignity is important and useful.

  4. And the ironic thing is that I ended up pulling out and 'A' in biology and it was World History that brought by GPA down which was beginning to become my favorite class. I guess it still is except we're on the Industrial Revolution which is so boring.

    And thank you for your broken toe sympathy. It is feeling much better:)

  5. Oh, No... Kaitee is Normal!! Or rather above average, even if not perfect. It's Ok Kaitee. For me, it was the supposedly 'easy A' classes that pulled my GPA down. I did wonderfully in the more difficult classes, but it was the typing classes and other similar courses that I did me in. I still got into a good school though, so don't worry too much. Not to mention, broken toe and all, you are too stinken cute!
