Cloudy Summer and Ms. Regina;

You know that feeling you're being attacked by phantom bugs? I thought I had this a minute ago, and now I have four mosquito bites on my ankle. Never ignore the phantom bugs. They may be real.

Anyways, I've fallen into the usual panicky feeling that comes towards the end of Summer. I haven't done enough! I've been so lazy! I have no friends! Though this year, I think about it, and I really have done a decent amount of stuff. Volleyball all throughout July, somewhat usual walks to the river, and even a road trip down to San Francisco. It's the dang weather, I swear! Now, I do love Washington and can appreciate a good rain now and then, but this is supposed to be Summer. I am fairly disappointed with this constant overcast.

However,I'm really not in the writing mood, and haven't been in awhile, thus the lack of posts, but I really just wanted to show you guys this song. It's beautiful and the lyrics give me the chills.

Vote for Kaitee;

With the school year coming to a close, class elections have once more consumed my life. I ran for Vice President again. I was somewhat hesitant due to last year ending with a box of tissues, a carton of ice cream, and many shouts and curses to the world. But alas, there I was, handing in my entry form and the campaigning began.

Finding out that I had only one competitor this year versus last year's three came as a huge relief. But still, I was not going to let my guard down. And plus, I freaking love to campaign. Though it was kind of sad this year. There was a point when I was trying to paint lettering on a poster and the paint pen I was using ran out. I thought to myself, Gee dangit! Next year I know not to buy these blasted contraptions. Then I suddenly had to remind myself that there isn't going to be a next year! I'll be a senior and ready to graduate this time a year from now! This is the last time I may ever make campaign posters. Weird.

The flyer you see above was my pride and joy this year. Click to enlarge and see the details! I printed 36 and hung them up all over school. If by some chance you happen to live in a hole, see below to understand the reference.

For big posters I had Jimmy Neutron, Spongebob, Harry Potter, Anchorman, and standard themes. I hate to brag, but they were EPIC. I might just postpone publishing this just so I can get pictures of them all on here!

Anyways, to the point. I won!! But as glad of this I was, some of the other postion results were disheartening. Let's just say, with next year's OHS Senior Class officers, it will be interesting. But as I myself said in my fail of a speech, It's our senior year, so let's have fun with it!(I realize how lame it is to quote myself)

And yes, I postponed;

I made this one last year, but it was too awesome to retire.

Note: I drew Spongebob by hand! Yes, this is a very impressive feat for me.

My momma did the lettering and I colored it in! Except the blurb at the bottom. I did that all on my own.

I was looking for slogan ideas online and they were all really corny so I decided to just look up movie quotes.

And last but not least, my dear friend Savannah made this one for me!

If I created "Like" pages on facebook;

They'd sound something like this...

Finding out that yellow mangoes are finally in season.

Sack lunch of cheese bagels, mango, and dark chocolate = ecstasy

The feeling of bliss you get at the Hospital.

Unexpectedly being treated to random peoples' birthday cupcakes at school.

Thinking it's Wednesday and realizing it's Friday

Getting an amazingly efficient nurse to draw your blood or give you I.V.'s

Walking your dog to the river on a crisp, fall afternoon.

Walking your dog to the river on a warm, spring day.

Walking your dog to the river on a blistering, hot summer day and jumping in.

The feeling of nostalgia you get when thinking of a really good book you just read.

Catching up on The Office, 30 Rock, Grey's Anatomy, etc. on a Friday night.

Finding out that mushrooms are actually quite delicious.

Unofficially winning a lunch-time debate.

Those days when you feel so good, you can go for days writing about all the things you like.

Realizing that if any of the above actually became a "Like" page, there would be precisely 0 likes.

I also love my family;

My family is large. My grandma had eleven kids and each of her kids had about four of their own and a lot of those kids have another batch of children as well. You'd think over time my family would be distant, but we're not. I can honestly say that I know about ninety percent of my family on a personal level. We get together often and I love it. In fact, my very best friend is technically my cousin's daughter.

But when I'm called over to take birthday pictures with the little kids, I can't help but feel a bit degraded. I told my cousin this and she seemed surprised. She told me it made her feel "united". At first, this made me feel ashamed for feeling the way I did. But then I thought about it and realized my feelings are totally justifiable. For one thing, Demi is tall and would never be mistaken as a child amongst a crowd of them. I am short and was standing next to a ten-year-old who is inches away from being taller than me. I guess I have a bit of a short-woman syndrome. Another reason which I realized after reading something my cousin wrote. I am not part that generation. Demi's DAD is my cousin. There is no reason I would feel a sense of "unity" with those kids. It sounds silly but my "people" were on the other side of the camera.

Sorry. I had to get that off my chest. And Demi. Don't get me wrong. I love you and "your people" every bit as much as I love "my people". (Some of you, even a little more)

A dog;

This is Amy. She is the newest addition to family. A temporary addition, anyways. She'll be staying with us until her family can take her back. For now though, we love Amy. She really is the sweetest dog. It's kind of refreshing having a dog that comes to you for attention and actually tries to snuggle. As much as I love, Lilee, which is more than anything, she is a snob in comparison to Amy.
Three flaws of Amy, however;
1. Her fur isn't very soft and not as fun to pet.
2. She's not photogenic, as you can see from the picture above. Because she's so dark, her face blends in with the rest of her body. And because of the quality of camera or the lack of my skill(probably the latter) I can't seem to capture her very well.

The above, I can deal with. But there's one more thing that I just about can't handle.

3. She chews things.

First, a pair of shoes of mine. I was upset at first but I managed to look on the bright side... I never liked those shoes anyways.

Next, the very first hat I knit still attached to the cheating knitter thing. I managed to salvage the hat but the knitting apparatus is useless now. Though, it only made baby hats so, I could forgive her for that too.

My La Roux CD case. A Christmas gift from my brother. The CD wasn't in there, so again, I can forgive her.

But let this be a warning to her, and, oh, how I wish dogs could understand the concept of warnings. Amy, why you choose to destroy only my belongings, I do not know. But if you do it again, and it happens to be something I really, truly care about, beware. I may not kick you, or hit you, but something else. I will scream. I will scream, and I will put you outside in the cold for an extended amount of time. So please, Amy....

Keep your paws off my stuff, pun intended.
